The Legacy slots are slots generated by another slot. The legacy slots doesn't have a number limit, they are contained in a list and any of them will be generated. A legacy slot can be configures with all the same possibilities as a normal slot, but it also can be left 'blank' excepted for its 'Linked Overlay(s)'.
Here are 2 simple examples of the legacy slots usage :
1- A sword and its scabbard : You can generate the scabbard of a sword when the weapon is generated. Select the sword DK element and use the DK UMA Editor to modify it. Click on the button 'Use Legacy Slot'. Then choose its Legacy element. The 'Linked Overlay' of the scabbard DK slot just need to be set with a color preset and it is ready.
2- A T-shirt and the arms : That is usefull if the T-shirt mesh does not cover properly the torso mesh. In the example the T-shirt will generate the arms slot. First edit the arms slot using the DK UMA Editor. The 2 following steps are required for a body slot, set the Body Overlay type to Flesh and set the place to the corresponding anatomy place, Torso in the example. Do NOT assign a 'Linked Overlay' to it, that is for the generator to know what overlay to use for a flesh element. Set the T-shirt DK element using the DK UMA Editor. Click on 'Replace the flesh anatomy part by this one' to remove the flesh torso of the avatar. Click on 'Use Legacy slot'. Assign the arms slot element as the Legacy element.
